Country Code Names Supporting Organization (ccNSO)

The ccNSO is a body within the ICANN structure created for and by ccTLD managers.

Committees and Working Groups Overview

The ccNSO Working Groups and Committees bring together people to collaborate on a wide range of topics — from policy development and internal processes to outreach, capacity building, and event planning.

Each group works under a charter that outlines its goals, how it operates, and who can participate. Membership is open to anyone involved with a ccTLD manager, whether or not they are a ccNSO member. Some groups also welcome observers from other parts of the ICANN community.

Groups usually meet every two weeks in virtual meetings, which are recorded and archived for transparency.

ccPDP4 ccTLD IDN Working Group

Policy Development to set rules for selecting IDN ccTLDs and their variants; delegation, transfer, revocation and retirement; and review mechanisms.

Council Travel Support Committee

Oversees, assesses, and selects ccNSO-supported travelers for ICANN meetings, in alignment with ICANN Travel Support deadlines.

Council Triage Committee

Dedicated to quickly review incoming requests for input and make a suggestion to the Council on how to react to the requests.

Disaster Recovery Study Group

Established to explore and advise the ccNSO Council on the role of IANA with respect to disaster recovery of ccTLDs.

DNS Abuse Standing Committee (DASC)

A forum for ccTLD managers to share insights, discuss mitigation practices, raise awareness, and promote dialogue.

Guidelines Review Committee (GRC)

Leads the ccNSO improvement program by reviewing guidelines, identifying gaps, and proposing updates based on current practices.

Internet Governance Liaison Committee (IGLC)

Coordinates, facilitates, and increases the participation of ccTLD managers in discussions and processes pertaining to Internet Governance.

Meetings Programme Committee (MPC)

Manages ccNSO session schedules and Members Meeting agenda at ICANN, ensuring quality and consistency across related activities.

Onboarding and Mentoring Committee (OMC)

Oversees ccNSO onboarding and mentoring, raises awareness, coordinates with SO/ACs, and maintains learning materials for newcomers.

Strategic and Operational Planning Standing Committee (SOPC)

Boosts and coordinates ccTLD manager participation in ICANN/PTI strategic, operational, and budget planning processes.

Technical Working Group

Organizes meetings to advise the ccTLD and broader community on technical and operational aspects of managing Top Level Domains (TLDs).

TLD-OPS Standing Committee

Enables ccTLD operators to detect and mitigate security incidents like DDoS, malware, and phishing, enhancing existing response systems.

Universal Acceptance Committee (UAC)

Provides the ccTLD community a global platform to share information and interact on UA and IDN acceptance with ICANN groups.
