It was a pleasure to participate in the IHE-Europe Connectathon Week in Brussels—an inspiring and energizing event for the global healthcare interoperability community. I had the privilege of speaking at Experience Days, where I shared progress on IHE PRISM EHDS and how this work is helping prioritize IHE activities to support European Health Data Space (EHDS). It’s exciting to see the progress including the recent publication of the Manifest-Based Access to DICOM Objects (MADO) profile and the collaboration worth HL7 Europe EURIDICE. We also hosted the IHE International Board Meeting in Europe for the first time in many years—an important milestone that reflects the growing importance of the European ecosystem in continuing to shape the future of interoperability. A sincere thank you to IHE Belgium, IHE-Europe and IHE Catalyst for organizing such an outstanding event, bringing together more than 1,000 participants. It was incredible to see so many stakeholders actively engaged in real-world interoperability testing—work that will be critical as the European Commission and EU Member States move toward EHDS implementation. Special thanks as well to IHE International’s benefactor members—HIMSS, Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), Canada Health Infoway, Assistant Secretary for Technology Policy and Australian Digital Health Agency for their continued leadership and support.
